St. Tammany Parish Hospital Home Health and Hospice programs provide palliative and supportive care to patients confined to their homes and under their physician’s care. The professional medical personnel are committed to providing quality care while working with patients to meet their goals. They handle all Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and workers' comp billing for our patients and accept assignment on covered service.
Skilled nursing offers a variety of services including IV therapy, wound care therapy and post-operative care, provided on an intermittent basis for prescribed medical treatment, supportive care, patient and primary caregiver teaching.
The registered nurse teaches the patient and family special diet instructions in the home and follows up with the patient to discuss how the diet is going.
A licensed physical therapist designs and provides rehabilitative services for each individual patient in the home. Specialized therapeutic exercises help patients meet their maximum rehabilitative potential.
A licensed occupational therapist provides a rehabilitative program to assist the patient in regaining and performing activities of daily living.
A licensed speech pathologist designs an individual therapy program to address communication or swallowing problems and educates patient and family.
Board certified social workers aid patients and families with financial assistance, community services or long-term care placement. They help patients adjust to changes resulting from illness or injury.

Trained and experienced nursing aides assist with personal hygiene and activities of daily living under a registered nurse’s direction.
