Women and Children’s Services is a collection of departments at St. Tammany Parish Hospital that strives to meet the needs of women and children.
Our division consists of the New Family Center which includes 19 private rooms for mothers who are in labor as well preterm mothers. The spacious rooms also allow mothers to deliver their babies and spend their recovery time all in the same room. Our New Family Center has a triage area where specialized nurses, under the direction of your obstetrician, assess your labor progress and determine if you will be admitted or return home until you are ready to deliver.
Our Newborn Nursery is staffed with highly specialized nurses and doctors to put your mind at ease as they attend to the needs of your new baby.
The St. Tammany Parish Hospital New Family Center consists of Labor & Delivery, the Treatment Room (triage area), Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery.

Our technology allows the attending OB-GYN to have off-site access to review the progress of the patient and status of the fetus throughout labor.
The center’s top priority is providing quality maternity care that combines technical excellence and knowledge of normal childbearing, while giving special attention to fulfilling parents’ personal preferences for their child’s birth experience.
