The Hospice Tree for Life is a long standing tradition of Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Each year at the annual Angels of Light event, the Tree for Life is lighted in a beautiful holiday ceremony. In addition, the tree is decorated with Tribute Angels. Each Tribute Angel represents a special person, whether living or deceased, who is being honored or memorialized by a friend or family member. Every light on the Tree for Life represents the extraordinary care and comfort that is provided to all hospice patients.

The 2007 Tree for Life is dedicated to the memory of Kent & Elleonora McWilliams by The McWilliams Family
W.K. “Kent” and Elleonora “Nonie” McWilliams were modern day visionaries, pioneers and philanthropists. They recognized the potential and many amenities of St. Tammany and moved to Covington in 1958 with their six children, in search of clean air, trees and friendly people. Fifty years later, they would encourage us to remain determined to protect our environment, to expand and grow with caution and conscience, preserving all the important qualities which make St. Tammany the best place to live. They were co-founders of Tchefunta Estates and Hospice of St. Tammany among other endeavors.
