STPH HOSTS ACS VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Save a life through the Road to Recovery program
COVINGTON, LA- St. Tammany Parish hospital will host training sessions for prospective volunteers to the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program.
The session includes free breakfast and will be March 13, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Mandeville Room at STPH.
The Road to Recovery program gives cancer patients free rides to medical facilities for treatment. STPH is partnering with the ACS by hosting program volunteer training sessions.
Volunteer drivers donate their time and vehicles to take cancer patients to the lifesaving treatment they need and return them to their homes. Drivers must have a safe and reliable vehicle, current valid drivers license, proof of automobile insurance, good driving record and attend a training session.
Coordinators volunteer at their convenience to help schedule the patient rides.
