St. Tammany Hospital Guild Makes Donation
COVINGTON, LA- The St. Tammany Hospital Guild is donating $15,000 to the St. Tammany Hospital Foundation to refurnish patient rooms.
The funds were raised through St. Tammany Parish Hospital gift shop proceeds.
“We are grateful for the Guild’s thoughtful donation and for the work that went into funding it,” Kenneth E. Latham, foundation board of trustees chairman, said. “St. Tammany Parish Hospital patients and loved ones will have a more comfortable hospital stay thanks to the Guild’s generosity.”
The Guild is an organization of approximately 115 members who donate 25,000 hours each year in twenty hospital departments. It also donates funds to the hospital raised from jewelry and bake sales. The funds provide nursing and allied health scholarships for the fall and spring semesters each year, among other purposes. These scholarships are awarded to qualifying hospital employees who are furthering their education in medical fields.
