The St. Tammany Parish Hospital pre-operative care unit is designed with patient satisfaction in mind. Located behind the gift shop on the first floor of the main hospital building, “pre-op” is easily accessible to our patients coming in for pre-operative testing.
Free Valet parking is available for your convenience. The Pre-op unit at STPH offers the following services to our patients:
- Lab testing
- EKG
- X-ray
- Nurse interview and patient teaching
Most surgery procedures require that you arrive approximately one-and-one-half to two hours before your procedure.

- Covington Surgery Center is the top floor of 1203 S. Tyler St. on the Charles A. Frederick Medical Office Complex (west of Tyler St., directly across from the main hospital)
- Ambulatory Care and Cath Lab are located on the second floor of the main hospital.
