Parenting Center Offering Nurturing Families Classes

COVINGTON, LA – The Parenting Center of St. Tammany Parish Hospital is sponsoring a Nurturing Parenting course for building healthy and caring families.  Nurturing Parenting is a proven, internationally recognized program for parents and their children that enhances self worth, empathy, discipline and empowerment.

Nurturing Parenting will cost $40 and includes course materials.  Scholarships may be available for qualifying participants.  The 16-week course is for parents and children up to 12 years old.  Classes will be held Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 18 through June 24 at The Parenting Center, 1505 North Florida Street, Suite B, Covington.

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.  Please call 985-898-4435 or email pjarrell@stph.org to register or for more information.

The course was made possible by a grant from the Harper Family Foundation and the Mitchiner-Gittinger Family Foundation to the St. Tammany Hospital Foundation on behalf of the Parenting Center.

The Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parenting, encourages optimal child development and enhances the well-being of the entire family.  The resources required to fulfill this mission grow every year with the exploding growth of our region.
