Cancer Resource Center

The St. Tammany Parish Hospital Cancer Resource Center is an invaluable source of knowledge in our community’s fight against cancer. Because informed patients have the power to participate in the important decisions of their own health care, the Resource Center provides access to current and accurate information related to cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, survivorship, rehabilitation and coping resources.

The Cancer Resource Center can also help patients undergoing treatment to obtain necessary items such as nutritional supplements, wigs and breast prostheses. As part of its efforts to perform a valuable community service, the Center may also provide much-needed items to those patients who cannot afford them.

If you are in need of such items, we welcome you to call Cancer Resource Center at 985-898-4581 for more information or to make an appointment.

We also invite you to call with any questions you may have about cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.

To learn more about the scope and number of cancer services and specialists available at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, visit the American Cancer Society's "Find a Treatment Center Close to You" web page.

The Cancer Connection Newsletter is a bimonthly publication that details many of the educational, screening and supportive events happening across the Northshore. To receive this free publication via email or regular mail, contact us at 898-4581 or via ccorizzo@stph.org.

How Can I help?

The Cancer Resource Center relies on the generosity of volunteers and benefits from their time and talents in a variety of ways. Many volunteers are cancer survivors or family members, others are interested people from the community and professionals who give time and skills. The compassion and unique perspective of our volunteers enriches the quality of service we provide. To volunteer, call the Cancer Resource Center at 985-898-4581.

Cancer LectureOur mission is to provide services at no cost, and to assist us in that mission, individuals, families and corporations in honor or in memory of loved ones donate financial contributions. These donations may be designated for the endowment or direct patient services. For more information, contact the St. Tammany Hospital Foundation.
