VHA Inc., a national health care alliance, has conferred VHA Leadership Awards upon St. Tammany Parish Hospital every year since 2005, honoring the hospital for meeting or exceeding national performance standards in specific areas.

In 2005 the hospital was recognized for achievements in the AMI and CHF core measure sets. In 2006 the hospital was recognized for their designation as an "Employer of Choice". Again in 2007, STPH was recognized for AMI and CHF core measures as well as improved outcomes as a result of implementing a "Rapid Response" team. The 2007 award also included recognition for expense reduction as a result of standardizing cardiac cath lab supplies.
