HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) was developed through a colloborative effort between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to publicly report on patient perception of care.

Beginning March 2008 patients will be able to compare patient satisfaction at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services website. Hospitals do have the option of not displaying their patient satisfaction results. St. Tammany Parish Hospital uses this and other patient satisfaction data to improve your hospital experience and provide you with world-class healthcare.
