In addition to an interview with a nurse, your pre-op visit may include lab testing, an EKG and an X-ray, all of which are conveniently located at the Paul D. Cordes Outpatient Pavilion. Once your physician has scheduled your surgery, call 985-871-5665 to schedule your pre-op appointment.
Full-service laboratory testing is available Monday-Saturday. While most tests can be performed without an appointment, patients are encouraged to contact the Pre-Access Center at 985-871-5665 for an appointment and to receive additional information, including how to properly prepare for a test. The Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Program is comprised of individualized prescriptive exercise, education, and counseling for patients with or at risk for heart disease.
Our certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support registered nurses and clinical exercise specialists lead out Phase I, II and III programs, in addition to our P.A.D. intervention exercise training, to improve cardiovascular health and increase aerobic capacity, muscle strength and flexibility.
Nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the Pulmonary Rehab Program is instrumental in reducing the number of hospital visits for patients living with pulmonary-related illnesses.
The program, led by registered respiratory therapists and clinical exercise physiologists, offers a comprehensive, individualized and supervised low-level exercise program, in addition to education for the patient and their family.
Services also include oxygen evaluation and smoking cessation counseling by tobacco treatment specialists. Ask your physician if the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program can benefit you. A physician referral is required.
As St. Tammany Parish’s longest established comprehensive wound care clinic, the Clinic for Wound Care and Hyperbaric medicine has successfully healed wounds at rates far below national averages for more than 10 years.
The physician-led team treats wounds associated with a variety of conditions - diabetes, venous or arterial insufficiency, burns, pressure ulcers, trauma, non-healing surgical sites, cancer and immunological disorders - by using an array of treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to promote quicker recovery while allowing the patient to remain in their home.
While a physician referral is not required, our wound care specialists work closely with all providers in the community to ensure continuity of care.
